Who is Kelcey?
I'm an American Astronomer working on deep imaging and spectroscopy from the James Webb Space Telescope. Currently, I'm studying the sources of extreme radiation in the first billion years of the Universe and the timescales on which these early galaxies formed their stars. I am a former 21cm cosmologist and have a broad research background including big data analytics, bench top optical physics, nearby galaxies, double star astrometry, and astrophysics from visible to radio wavelengths. I am a member of several large science collaborations, primarily CEERS but also NGDEEP, PRIMER, and CAPERS. I am PI of SPAM, an observing program adding medium-band photometric coverage to CEERS in JWST Cycle 4.
Public OutreachI love talking about my research and astronomy in general. I've worked with faculty and other graduate students at the University of Connecticut to revamp the planetarium and get it back to a state where we can run weekly shows. I have designed shows on the milky way, eclipses, and aliens. I create pages within the planetarium software (Digitarium + Nightshade G3) that host clickable buttons to streamline presenting.
I keep the HTML code to run my shows here: |
